      UV–vis spectrophotometric titrations have been carried out on <i>meso</i>-tris(<i>o/m/p</i>-aminophenyl)corrole (H<sub>3</sub>[<i>o/m/p</i>-TAPC]) and meso-triphenylcorrole (H<sub>3</sub>[TPC]) in dimethyl sulfoxide with methanesulfonic acid (MSA).
